App Uses Satellite Images to Size Your Home for Solar Panels
Sungevity, a new solar services startup, allows you to fit your home for solar panels without leaving your den. According to a write-up on Fortune’s Green Wombat blog, the web app simply takes your address, zooms in on your home, and uses satellite images to compute your roof’s dimensions. Then it helps you choose the right solar array and try out what the system will look like on your home’s roof.
